I hope you'll enjoy it and, as on friday we will not be able to publish,
Do you want an advice? If in Zanzibar your girlfriend, who knows Africa better than you, suggests you to spread the protective cream already before coming out of the room... and if she repeats this advice as soon as you arrived on the beach because "in spite of being covered from clouds, the african sun doesn't forgive" and you are white just as a "mozzarella cheese"... listen to her!!!!
Do you want another advice? If you are obstinate like my "mozzarella cheese hubby"... and you didn't follow the earlier advice... try to not stay half an hour on the seashore chatting with a "beach-boy"... because you'll pay hard it!!!
But let's go on...
As I told you in Zanzibar everybody speaks italian. Tourism on the island was born with italians... in the beginning touristic infrastructures were mainly italians... and so all the local people gravitating around them speak italian. The beach is quite crowded with young men called "beach boys" which "assault" you in a kind way in order to sell you their tours (we didn't trust them, but a lot of people does), bringing you in their little shops and also just for chatting... and who, in the end, will seduce you with their spontaneity, simpathy and joy of life...
The little shops on the beach are really lovely... you can find there a lot of beautiful things at low prices (obviously haggling is indispensable)... paying them with euros, dollars (the local value is the less appreciated) or also swapping them with slippers, shirts... or anything you have by hand... I saw people swapping souvenirs with those little courtesy shampoos and shower gels you find in the hotel room...
One of the typical Zanzibar handicrafts are the paintings... called "Tinga Tinga"
(The man bended down admiring Ting Tinga is "the mozzarella cheese man"... you could ask yourselves why is he wearing long trousers on the beach... it's simply said... for having not followed his conceited girlfriend advices... he found himself with the legs matching his trousers colour!!!)
But in your opinion... on an african beach... where everybody speaks italian... where you use euros to buy anything... how may the shops be called???
Another reason for which Zanzibar's beach is beautiful...in addition to the whiteness of the sand... to the blueness of the sea (which unfortunately feels too much the tide's effect... and so it's not like maldivian sea)
but I will show them next time!!!

I like it because after all the summer socializing........ after the strong and longlasting light.... after the orgy of enjoyments and iperactivity..... my introvert side appreciates the intimacy that this season carries along!!!
I like the pasta dishes and the main courses made heavier as well as the pumpskins..... in the kitchen...... and also as decoration!!!
[ and with regard to pumpkins have you read saturday's random post with the little pumpkins of “Le due comari”?]
The are a lot of reasons why I love the one which is still the romantic and "cuddle" season (as a friend from the blog would say) in the most...
